Shrewsbury Mountaineering Club has around 100 members. We encourage members to participate in a range of club events and activities from day and weekend meets in the UK to longer trips abroad. Prospective members are encouraged to come along to several club events before applying to join. Every new member has to be proposed and seconded by a current member. Once received the application is discussed at the next committee meeting. Committee meetings are held on the first Monday of each month and one week later when it is a bank holiday Monday.
The membership fee for 2008 is £20 and the fee due in January of each year. Nearly half of this fee is payable to the British Mountaineering Council and provides each club member with third party insurance cover. Submissions of members to the BMC are made in February, May and before September. If a member joins in between these quarterly submissions the BMC will cover them with third party insurance until the next quarterly submission.
Please note that Membership is only available to applicants over the age of 18 years.
