Shrewsbury Mountaineering Club (SMC) is a Shropshire based mountaineering,
rock-climbing and walking club founded in 1959. SMC is affiliated to the
British Mountaineering Council
(BMC).
SMC currently has a hundred plus members who participate not only
in climbing and mountaineering but also in many other outdoor activities
including mountain biking, sailing and skiing.
SMC usually arrange a one
day meet and one weekend away each month throughout the year as well as several
week long trips away in various locations throughout the UK and
abroad.
SMC meet locally in Shropshire every Tuesday evening throughout
the year for mainly walking or running and in the summer months climbing and
mountain biking as well.
